Christmas is just days away and you, like many of us, can’t find the perfect gift for the anglers on your gift list. So, what do you do? Easy—you keep reading because I’ve got the answer for you.

A 2008 California Resident Sport Fishing License is the perfect gift that keeps on giving all year long. A license is required for residents over 16 years of age to fish in inland or ocean waters. The 2008 license only costs $38.85, which is quite a bargain when you consider a two-day Sport Fishing License costs $19.45!

I highly recommend adding a $12.10 Second Rod Stamp. It allows anglers to fish with two rods in inland lakes, reservoirs and the Colorado River District. It’s a great way to try two different fishing techniques at the same time.

I also recommend picking up a $4.45 Ocean Enhancement Stamp. It allows anglers to fish in ocean waters south of Point Arguello. And, one more, a $3.00 Colorado River Stamp so they can fish from a boat or other floating device on the Colorado River (think huge stripers and cats!!) or adjacent waters forming the California-Arizona border.
